Yesterday began early with a run, and ended late with a truck problem that I didn't get fixed. It was a long day.
Ironically on the day that we're looking for a replacement vehicle the truck we were driving (the one that I don't own but have been driving for 15,000 miles) began overheating. We were in Glen Burnie when it happened so we were able to get it home.
Because of the inconvenience I had to call off our small group. (sorry guys)
I really hoped it was just a problem with the thermostat, but after replacing the thermostat I still had overheating problems. I've got to figure out a solution quick no wheels means no deals.

When it overheats, check the fan and see if its running. It it is not, check your temp sending unit, (screwed into the top of the engine near the front, usually). If you pull the wire off and the fan starts running it means that unit is bad and needs to be replaced - not expensive. I had that happen on my Mustang (I disagree by the way on the mustang/minivan preference) but there's no accounting for taste. Also happened to me in the bush in western Kenya a couple of years ago. If its not the thermostat, it could be that unit. Be blessed
Thanks for the advice. Unfortunately the fan works. I say unfortunately, because I would be more confident fixing that. There is a leak on the back side of the engine near the firewall.
oops, sounds like a head gasket maybe?
