Hitting the Streets

Yesterday at my lunch meeting my friend Noah says, "Man, you are hitting the streets." He was referencing the things he's been reading about on my blog. I told him, that he was absolutely right in his evaluation. That's exactly what we've been doing.

It is all because of a transformation in thinking that I went through about 3 months ago. I had started a church with the approach of a "pastor of a church in the community." But that's not what I am. I'm a church planter. I'm a missionary. I'm not an ordinary pastor, and oh yeah while we have a church, the community knows nothing about it. These are radical changes in perspective. They may not seem it. In fact, as I look in retrospect, I wonder why it took so long to figure out, but I'm there now. My schedule has changed. My work has changed.

The interesting thing is that I feel like the church has changed/is changing. More people are getting involved in new ways. Volunteers are getting plugged in. Our small groups are spread among more leaders than ever. I believe that when God births a vision he does it not just in the heart and mind of the leader, but it is revealed in the people too.

I gotta say, that this is the most excited I've been. I have a real confidence that this is what we should be doing. I love it.
