What I'm Learning

If there is one thing I'm learning these days as a church planter it's that the mission better have intrinsic value. Our mission is becoming a significant church in the greater annapolis-area: Making Disciples, Baptizing Them, and Teaching Them To Obey God's Word.

It's fairly simple really, it is nothing more than doing what Jesus told us to do. The way we accomplish this is through Large Groups and Small Groups, and our current season has us working hard at getting the word out. I feel like our church has so much to offer people. Not much in the way of the much that mega churches offer, but much in the way that authentic people, honest conversation, and real connectivity that I find at Severn River Church. It is worth it. This cause that I've given my life to. It is a drive that leads me. I will continue to plant the seed, because it wasn't intended to be planted. It was never intended to just be seed.

So I'm out here doing it. I'm working like it all depends on me, and praying like it all depends on God. That's what I'm learning these days.
