Volunteer Highlight

I wanted to take a moment and say thanks to a new volunteer at SRC. Diane started attending SRC several months ago. She has jumped in and embraced SRC as her own. In a conversation last month I was asked to describe our weekend service and to prioritize the strengths and weaknesses. One major weakness that I saw was our effort to greet people when they came in.

We moved our lobby to the back side of the building where it is much more comfortable and put up signs that clearly direct people to through the building, but I wasn't satisfied without that personal touch of someone who smiled and welcomed you into the building. So, following that conversation, I asked Diane to fill that role for us. She is now the first face of SRC. That could be intimidating, but Diane does it wonderfully. She is a very inviting person, so I know she'll do a great job helping guests feel welcomed.
