This Sunday we're starting a new series that Matt will be teaching for the next four weeks only. It is a study in the book of James from the New Testament. He has been preparing this series over the last few months as we've been counting down to this start date.
James is referred to as Wisdom Literature, because it is a book filled with practical truisms of life. It is very similar to the type of literature found in the book of Proverbs. Jesus said in Matthew 11 that Wisdom is proven right in her Action, and this series will challenge us to action in living out faith in Jesus Christ.

For those who may not know, this series gives me a break from the teaching that I normally do. It is a great opportunity for me to prepare for the new baby that is due to arrive in our house in just a few days. I'm thankful that God has brought a partner pastor to SRC and that we have the chance to share the teaching load together.
