The Quiet Beneath The Waves

Wow! How could I have missed one of the most exciting things that has ever happened at SRC. Last Sunday we baptized 4 members of SRC. Talk about exciting, it was off the meter for me. As many of you know I am sold out to the mission of the church which is to make disciples, baptize them, and teach them to obey God's word. Days like Sunday show us we're winning.

People making the choice to be baptized is a huge step of commitment in their faith journey. It is a symbolic way of putting old lives behind them, and beginning new lives. For Kevin, Drew, Jenna, and Joe the journey with Christ led them to steps into a pool, but more important were the steps out of the water. The mission is perpetuated in their lives. I was thinking about it this morning after listening to Sunday's message again. Listen to this...

When we fulfill the mission of Christ, we begin the mission again. I'm so thankful to be sharing it with special SRCers like this.

The firsts of more to come!
