These are my thoughts as I move into the new office...
- I am already going to lose one of the art pieces in my office because of my annual planning calendar.
- It's a bit weird here, because I'm sub-leasing from a company that is mostly women. This office has a very warm, homey feeling. Which is great, but I feel like I'm just barging into their personal space. I guess that feeling will pass. Yesterday I
talked to Eva about saying hello and goodbye. She was doing it every time we saw each other. I told her that it wasn't necessary. Appreciated, but not necessary. - Thank God for air conditioning.
- I brought a duster. The track lighting and ceiling fan hadn't been dusted in a while.
- Desk to the left? or right? I think if I can move it all the way right I can squeeze a bookshelf on the left, and bring some of my mentors (authors) to stay here at the office. Already A. W. Tozer is with me and a collection of 66 volumes of over 40 authors (Ten points if you can guess the title).
- I linked my twitter with my Facebook status. Each time tweet about a part of the move some FB friend asks if we got a building.
- Be the first to call me at the office. 410.491.4314
- Just got rid of some surplus stuff that they left behind, but was unneeded. Shame to see the lamp with lace shade and crystal tassels go.
- Gotta run home for lunch. Further than just up the stairs.
- Just measured up the office to get a sense of how I can equip the space.
- Corie was the first one to call me at the office.
- Compartmentalizing. At home everything was wrapped up in one place. I paid my bills at the same desk I prepared sermons. Now I have to think about what the boundaries of each space will be. It is a nice feeling to know that I can go home and my "work" stuff is at work, not right downstairs.
- Filled up a water container in the fridge here at the office in case I get thirsty.
- Just scheduled my first ministry meeting here with Chris Bell for the band
- Scheduling counseling meetings here at the office. Now I gotta figure out how to help people find me here...
- I'm out. Good first day.
