I enjoy making new friends. Last week a family moved from out of state and they found our church on the web. On Sunday we got to meet them, and they were really friendly. I thought that my knowledge of the area might be of some benefit to them as they find their way around, so I invited them out to dinner, but they reciprocated with an invitation to their home. I'm looking forward to getting to know good people. There's something deeply spiritual about eating together. Before Jesus left the earth he wanted to make sure that his followers ate together. That's why he instituted the Communion meal, the Lord's supper. He said that one of the characteristics of his people was that they should eat together in remembrance of him.
Anyway, looking forward to being a Christ-follower, hanging out with others tonight.
