Today I attended the funeral of Roland Tayman. It was one of the warmest commemorations I can recall. Many family members and friends shared memories of a man who served in WWII (earning the bronze star), was married for 60 plus years, and served on the Annapolis Fire Department for over 70 years.
It was very nice to see so many that had such fond memories of this man. My heart went out to Amee, an SRCer, who had lost her grandfather, and the many other people that had heavy hearts of grief.
Mr. Roland attended the church I formerly pastored, and I remember when I came into the office and found out that he had given his life to Christ after many years of attending the church. We baptized him shortly after. He might be the oldest person I've ever baptized. What a joy to know that he is spending eternity with Christ.
